Today I learned how nice it can be to just hide away in my craft room and ignore the world around me...to get absorbed in my creations and even shutting the window blind down to block out the world... to turn my music on and sing along without worrying if anyone can hear me...just me my craftroom, my suppplies..my music= my creativity!

Today I learned that a hurting back can affect every other area of your day!! I had to call of sick from work because I hurt my back somehow (and I really don't know how) on saturday morning and here on Tuesday it is still hurting me but thankfully not as bad as Saturday.

Today was a sad sad lesson....let me start by explaining..every summer since moving to this house (this being the 3rd year) our male nuetured cat would disappear for a few days each summer...as if on a holiday from home but only ever this one time a year each year. This summer he seemed a bit late in doing this so when he didn't come home on Saturday we "assumed" he would be back in a couple days as always, usually I go out looking for him..this year I didn't...well I wish I had of..we got a call monday (5th) afternoon asking if we had a cat named Pickles...he had been brought into the vets and had been hit by a car...so my lesson today is not to "Assume" anything unless you have proof!!

I have not had a very good few days but have been writing alot of things down so am now here to catch up....Today (Sunday) one of the things I learned was that spending a week with my husband on annual leave goes by way to fast! Seems like we just started our week off and here its almost over in just a few more hours :(

Being a huge fan of walking boot sales for bargains, we usually find ourselves at the BIG sunday morning Ardleigh boot sale which takes HOURS to walk the entire sale...but today we found a very small community boot sale which was free to get in and I found some awesome bargains, 2 winter knit tops for 50p each and 2 wooden cases for £2 that my hubby is going to alter for me to hold my promarkers!!! So sometimes...smaller is much better when it comes to deals at Boot sales...oh and my feet didn't even have a chance to get tired

Today I learned that by picking up a book which I had put down in the past because I cannot quite get on with it...can make all the difference in my reading it! I had started reading a book about a year ago and put it down because I just couldnt get on with it...and now after picking it up again I am finding it hard to put down!! Sooo before I get rid of those "hard to get into books...I shall give them another chance!

Ahhh so September first is finally here...Alan and I were out @ braintree shopping outlets today enjoying the sunny day and our time off work together. Ahhh but what did I learn today? My lesson for today is "Less is sometimes better" We went to Chimiganas for lunch/dinner before we left Braintree and once again forgot how big their portions are...we should have just had the sharer starter and a drink and not ordered dinners....would have left without feeling over stuffed if we had. Ahhh but isn't that what life is all about...we live and learn! Love and light to all. xx

I have for the past week participating in Shimelle's "EXPLORE" workshop! Loving it as I am working through this at my own pace....but loving every aspect of participating.Our very first assignment was to take a self portrait and I did this with a bit of a twist..instead of setting up my tripod and timer or standing in front of a mirror..I went up to the full length mirror which leans against the wall in our box room...a room used more as a laundry/storage area and sat upon the futon and snapped away! Out of all the shots..this is the self portrait I like best!

After the Church we headed out to Orwell Woods..The path along the river headed towards the Orwell Bridge has taken a bit of a beating by the weather and the water and is slowly being washed away...whats even sadder is the amount of litter that people thoughtlessly throw around the contryside...sickening it is. Along the way we met up with Cows (in a farmers field) and scenery that I wish to share with you here...I hope you enjoy what my eyes have seen.xx

Sunday the 20th Alan and I planned the beginning of many walks now the nice weather has returned....we love spending saturday or sunday mornings walking in the country side on a very quiet sunday morning stroll through town while most are still tucked up in their beds...town looks so different when its minus shoppers and cars etc. Yesterday my plan was to walk the opposite side of the Orwell bridge that we normally walk and on the way to the bridge we stopped and parked up near St Michaels Parish church that just a couple weeks ago suffered a major fire...is it sad...yes..but whats sadder was before the fire the parish has been boarded up for a long time and most recently been used my drug users who tend to leave dirty needles and such around..so maybe it wasn't a terrible happening that they can no longer access the building.....The one shot I took really grabbed at my heart...the one where the stain glass window is just laying out...there was just such an overwhelming feeling of " eeriness as I snapped these photos"

I took this photo in May of 2010 on a lovely trip to Budapest...when you came upon this memorial representing the shoes of the jewish people.(adults and children) that were shot next to the River and this is where they fell into the water..there was such a silence as if each and every lost SOUL were there.....It really made a deep impact upon myself and I think of the whole trip this is something I shall carry with me the rest of my life...a feeling so unexplainable...so this is my interputation of this weeks Sunday creative

Week 1....Ritual-to me I am using my morning ritual when I come down stairs my hubby has a cuppa waiting by my computer for me with my morning aspirin...same ritual minus the aspirin when I do a night shift as I cannot take it right before sleeping. Always check my fb and email while having my first couple cups of coffee.

Here is a Canvas I did for my managers 60th birthday, I inked and crackle painted a chipboard T and then added beads on a wire to it...I heat embossed a grungeboard swirl with copper and silver. I looked up the meaning of her name and added it to a piece of decorated casdstock, the canvas I painted with cream coloured paint and then distressed the edges of the canvas with brown ink....and got a thumbs up from her :D

Firstly can I just say Thank you for stopping by and not giving up on me. The past few months have not been very easy and I have been feeling many feelings that have really made me look at my life, the people in it, both friends and family. Sometimes we think people are our friends and we find out along the way thay unless you do things exactly how THEY think they should be done...then your not their friend, or the fact that friends should be able to share the good and bad and when you are there for a friend when they are down or when they are happy but when you need them they don't bother calling or just don't care, it makes you look further into that friendship really is, or when you do chat with them..they make you feel very uneasy by their words. Well I for one am tired of feeling this way! I am tired of being the one that always lends my ear and taken some abuse because other people have hurt them...and I just take it, well that day is over, if I am not a good enough friend for you to pick up the phone and give me a ring then lets just say I am not good enough to be a friend at all! You know who you are. I am taking 2010 to get the me back I was in 2000, the independant, happy, caring, loving person I have always been..the one that gives and doesn't expect back...but also one that had good friends that didn't feel the need to abuse me or my feelings. I have met many good people since moving here and have made some very close friendships, and I cherish those that are true friends. I've met some wonderful people online through my crafting also whom I consider my friends, and hope we can always be good friends, its such a nice bond we all seem to share.
As for my family, this past year has really been an eye opener and there's been alot of heartache, hurt, anger, greed felt. I am just getting back to grips with all of this and trying to see the other sides of these family members. Also I am slowly coping with the death of my Auntie whom I so dearly miss and just wish I could hear her words "I love you very very much" once again. I miss her so so much.
I am also coming to grips with the fact all my sons are now in the states living, and our relationships as adults is so awesome! But there are times I feel so far away and alone from them.
Also recently I have found out how a total stranger can really mess with your head, make you feel hurt and anger, just by their words, to the point of making you question your own self worth.

Sorry for such a long long entry, for my friends who have wondered where I have been...this is where...just working on myself, dealing with life, and trying to find the person I know I am.
I have some very close friends that I want to thank that have been helping me along the way with their kindness and kind words and helping to show me that I do have friends and friends that care, and that I am worth more than just being a sounding post and rug to be walked upon. Thank you and I think you know who you all are, you are the best! And can I just say.....please be patient with me a bit longer?? xx

Wow its been quite awhile since I have posted here, sometimes our lives get so busy and the more we try to do the less we get done, I've been settling into my job and taking alot of courses and just living life. My crafting has taken a back seat to life the past few months but now that the sun is not shining as much and the days are getting cooler I will most likely be spending alot more time in my craftroom so there will be posts added here once again. I have thought about canceling out this blog and my photo blog but decided to keep them for awhile longer and see how I feel in a couple months about them. Since I am lucky enough to have my own craft space I am planning to spend alot more time in there doing what I love to do in my spare time..CRAFT!

Studio 101 August first challange lo

Here is my take on the August first lo over on The Studio blog We were to create a lo using a non scrapbooking item (the ivory turtle) use borders..I have used a few and also to combine stamping with journaling, I have stamped a few of my words in with my hand written journaling.

Just a couple more items to add...These are for the challange I set over at Charmed cards and crafts...One challange I set was to alter a canvas...requirements were to use paint of any type, use fibres and also use glitter..I added also 3 buttons to mine.

My second challange was for everyone to do a layout with ALOT of journaling, plus since I will be 52 to add either 5 or 2 of something and also to use chipboard. I really like the way both of these have turned out. Love and light to all who pass by here and stop to have a look. xx Tee

Here is a layout I have done for the July challange over on THE STUDIO blog. The challange was use stash that you have had longer then 6 months and to do pleating somewhere on the layout and also to use a Rock Song title, which I have done..the pleating I have done with the netting between the photo's and the Rock song I chose was "Seagull" by Bad Company. The photos I took at Lyme Regis in June 2009. Thank you for looking.

Dotties World Challange..

The challange for this week over at Dotties World is entitled "Christmas in June" and I decided since I have just bought the new digi downloads "Pixie Chicks" I would use "Holly" Pixie for my card to enter this challange.

I have printed Holly onto acetate and cut a window in my card stock for Holly to show through, I then printed Holly out on Saf Mat and placed in on the inside of the card directly behind the acetate image so when the card is open, there is another Holly :), I have also used lace to fame the window on the front of the card and used a digi frame from the same collection printed to frame the inner from side of the card. I have printed the front greeting from the Pixie chicks collection also onto saf mat to add to the front of the card.

After spending a couple weeks revamping my craftroom I have been doing a bit of crafting...Thank you for having a peek. The card is for a member challange on Charmed cards and crafts, as well as Dancing on Wheels, the photo is a photo of my parents when they were quite young...the Catarpillar is of my niece while out shopping at Michaels in the USA (my ds3 took the photo) last but definetely not least "One in a Million" is a photo of my Auntie that we lost in Feb. this one was very very hard to do and alot of tears were shed while creating the layout....as this also was one of the last photo's I took of her and the last time I saw her before her passing. Thank you taking the time to look at my creations.

Over the past couple of weeks Alan and I have been very busy making some changes around the house..my craftroom being one of those changes. I have given this alot of thought and when I saw these shelving units knew immediately this was what I wanted...Alan made the work area with new kitchen base units and then a white work service which gives me plenty of work space to create to my hearts content :) The top couple of photos are of how it used to look....unorganized and messy lol and the rest of the photos are of the new area. I have done a bit of scrapping since I arrived home...here 3 of the layouts I did..have another but haven't photographed it yet.
A small explanation of the photos..My Aunties Casket after everyone had left the chapel...her last name was Angel so when I spotted this pp in the states I had to buy it and do this lo in her memory.
My sisters and I together...its been many years since we have had our photo taken together.

I have the most wonderful husband!! I woke this morning and found these gifts..and how much more special can a woman feel?? My husband is not into crafting at all but has really over done himself in my craft room this year, he firstly made me a card, and then he said he wanted me to have flowers so created these and he did it all by trial and error...no patterns..no photo's. I am so so touched. ( seriously...how many husbands would do this??)

I have made my husbands Valentine card this year and wanted something a bit different...so I made this one using Holly & Madison downloads created by Lou, you can get yours over at Charmed. I used one of the pre coloured images and added flocking to the feather boa and stickles to the lace on her outfit and glitter to her slippers.

Hi there! Thank you for stopping by and having a peek of my blog and my crafty bits. I have joined a few scrapping threads over on UKScrappers and have been getting a bit of my mojo back.

I know I have not been crafting half as much as I would like to but I find it really hard somedays this time of year to even smile...I won't go into why..but maybe someday I will. Another reason is because my job keeps me very busy these days and I am looking to change job locations but not job positions. Anyway....here is what I have been up to the past couple weeks...hope you enjoy looking as I have enjoyed creating them. A short explanation of my LO's. 1. My Hands....uks cyber crop pre crop challange...do a layout of an identifying characteristic of yours...when I asked my dh..he said..your small caring hands...so hence the layout of my hand next to his, 2.Aged elegance another pre crop challange as most people know I love cemetaries and love taking photo's there...so here is a photo I took at the swansea cemetary of an ornament enclosure of a cemetary family plot that has rusted and aged over the years..I find this..beautiful..but sad. 3. I think is my Niagara LO, mine and dh's first trip together as a couple..driving from Maine to Michigan..we were 30 miles from Niagara and just could not pass it up....we arrived at 7am and the gate man let us in for free and we had the place to ourselves except one man and a couple squirrels and my youngest son! Absolutely stunning is all I can describe it as! 4. Special Bond is of my brother and I, we had such a great friendship, he was 7 years older then I but he was my best friend from the day my mom brought me home from the hospital, we lost him when I was 13, it still hurts all these years later...this lo means so so much to me. 5. is of me...wow huh? I was born in the year of the Rooster in the chinese horoscope so hence the rooster on the lo, it was for this past weeks uks weekly team challange.

I have finially had a couple days to do some crafting and my mojo is flying..I have more photo's cut out to do some more layouts but so far over the past couple weeks I have done these! The top photo is of my second eldest son in his cap and gown for his high school graduation in the U.S. and of him at his celebration a few days later! Next one is of the same some on his second Christmas, and looking very serious! Then we have my third eldest taking a snooze on his brothers skateboard after a long process of rolling it back and forth across the kitchen floor...he still doesn't like to take naps 20 years on! And who can miss Pickles the cat! He does get himself into some awkward spots..but he did prove to me he wasn't stuck! thank you for looking :)

A bit of me...

I have done a bit of crafting over the holidays and hence the photo's, I have not been about much as I am struggling a bit with my state of mind so to speak. I have a very close Auntie that has been up and down with her health the past few months, and this seems to constantly on my mind. I was lucky enough to speak with all 4 of my son's Christmas day and very happy to know they are all content with where they are at in life at the moment for the most part so as a mum this takes some worry off my heart. For some reason my menopause has really been hitting full force again and my hot flushes and night sweats are wearing me out, my mood goes from high to low in a matter of seconds and I find myself in tears these days more then not. Thankfully I have a fantastic husband who stands by me no matter what and realizes that someday (hopefully soon) I will be back to the lighthearted, full of laughter, woman he married. I do want to add a Thank you to those of my friends who have supported me through all of this, and I am sorry to the ones who have chosen not to...sometimes it takes the rough patches in life to organize our relationships for us.

Wow seems like forever since I have been here and thats not good! Work is keeping me so so busy these days and I seem to just not have any me time anymore to spend crafting. :( Here are a couple layouts I have done in the past couple weeks and very soon I will be photographing my Christmas cards I have made and adding the pics here so you all can see that I have not been sitting idle on my days off.

"Upside Down" was done for a UKS weekly challange and for me to use pink is so not me but I do like the way this turned out. The photo was taken in Spain by my dh while he was there working this past September.

"Mon Fils" was also done for a weekly uks challange where we had to use french for a title which mine means.."My Sons"

"Sunset" was done for a member sketch challange 3C's. TFL :)

Hello all once again...my MOJO has returned and I have taken full advantage of it by doing a few Layouts. I have decided its time I got seriously busy on scrapping the hundreds of photo's of my sons from birth upwards since they are now all in their 20's and do I dare even say one is 31!!! Ouch..I feel old sometimes! I hope you like what you see and please do leave comments :)

A little explanation of the Layouts ..Beachy Head...not much to explain..I love the sea and seaside and with that goes light houses...I love this photo of the lighthouse at Beachy Head the red and white against the white and black wall just to me is amazing. Then we have my eldest son Ryan (now 31) dressed as a cowboy to have his photo taken, he loved it! and that leads us to my second eldest Dan (now 24) catching sunbeams as the title states....and was very serious about it may I add until he caught us watching him and gave us one of his gorgeous smiles! Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog. xx

This is a LO I did for a weekly challange over on uks. We were to use a sketch provided, use an outside photograph, use autumn colours, and use 10 of something..I have done all of the above. This lo was harder for me to do then I thought it would be, alot of emotion came flooding back to me while scrapping this. The photo is of my 4 sons, my Nephew and my 2 great nephews carrying my father, their Grandfather to his final resting place. TFL

I have been doing a bit of crafting....here are a couple LO's I have done over the past few days...also have a third but will show that one on my blog later.

The Queen's Cat's I did for a UKS weekly challange which was to: use a royal theme, use yellow, use circles, use some shine and use something new...these Lion heads I spoted on Windsor castle and couldn't resist snapping their photo!

The second is a LO for Carmens sketch challange on 3 C's..its of our godson on boxing day 2007 trying to catch the bubbles! tfl! :)

This is a LO I did for a challange using a round sketch and we had to use 5 of something and the photo had to be one of an acheivement or celebration....so here is what I came up with...I honestly didn't think I would enjoy doing a round LO but I really love this one..perhaps its because its of one of my son's (the short one on the left end of the photo). ok...this first one is of my Mum and Alan walking outside of Windsor Castle...my mother is shrinking and Alan looked sooooooo much taller then his 6'2" next to her!
How could I resist scrapping this photo?? This is of my youngest when he was only 2 1/2 months old smiling at his brother whose head you can barely see in the photo!
This was for a challange on UKS of to use a cd cover to scraplift..I used Gorillaz, we also had to use material and it had to be a holiday theme. What better one then my favourite holiday to Spain??

This is a photo of my Mother at I believe around 17..it was her graduation from high school photo. I have always loved this photo.

This lo was done as a challange I set over on the charmed forum my challange was to do a lo using foam on it, ribbon and visible journaling...and yep I did all of the above!

I have been lucky enough to have my friend Sarah come to spend a night with me this past week. She was nice enough to pick me up from work and after popping back out for some nibbles and wine we went back to my house and had dinner then began our evening of crafting, chatting and laughing, we crafted well into the night and then again Friday afternoon. WHAT WAS HAPPENING !) YEARS AGO? I was working doing private care in the USA, being a mum to my 4 sons and at the time still married to my ex husband.

NAME 5 THINGS TO DO TODAY: 1)Take a bath and wash my hair. 2)Work on the work rota's for my job. 3)Try to pick out papers for a LO I am trying to do. 4) Get ready and walk to work.
5) Give my hubby a big kiss when he picks me up from work at 9pm!

SNACKS I ENJOY: My most favourite snack is popcorn. I am not a huge snacker but when I do feel like a snack I prefer savoury to sweet.

THINGS I WOULD DO IF I WERE A MILLIONAIRE: I would pay off my bills, help my sons financially if they needed me to, buy a cottage by the seaside or run a B&B by the seaside.

I have had a visitor at my house this week....my mate Sarah C has been to stay for a few days..we celebrated her birthday on Monday with chinese food and a couple bottles of white wine. We went shopping monday afternoon before the meal to work up an appetite! We spent a fair amount of time crafting and here are a couple LO's I have managed to get done...plus I did a CJ lo but haven't photographed that yet. Thank you for having a look!

The "Attitude" lo is of my son Chris (next to youngest) showing off his split chin...with a bit of a look added in...I couldn't resist scrapping it!

"My party dress is the weekly challange on UKS where we were asked to 1. Scrap a childhood photo of yourself. 2. Use something pink. 3.Use something metal 4. Use something recycled and 5. use stripes. I have managed to do all...photo of me as a child, pink paper, metal flowers on the corners of my photo, the flowers are punched out of a pepsi can, and I have added an acetate overlay which has stripes on it.
